High winds, power outages, and down trees in south coast. If you must drive, keep a safe distance, hold the steering wheel tightly, and look out for debris. If traffic lights are out, treat it like a 4-way stop. To report a down tree, call 911. For more info on disaster preparedness: readysbc.org.

The Board of Supervisors supported a plan to reduce speed limits on nearly 36.5 miles of road by five miles per hour. The plan will also reduce the speed limit on two sections of roadway by 10 miles per hour.

Last week, k-rail was placed between Valley Fresh Mkt and the creek in Santa Ynez to help protect the area in the event of flooding. While the railing is there for protection, please stay away from the area during flooding. To learn more about how to prepare for the rainy season, visit readysbc.org
