I managed to get one of those yesterday from an account that became suspended while I was tapping on the chat/DMs link, which is funnier than it should be, to me

me on irc via irssi and screen with my winmo6.5 phone 15 years ago:

<hacker voice> "I'm in"

(to my own server but that doesn't matter)

nerd notes 1:
"conforms to standards set years ago" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. </mean>

nerd note 2: Thomas' buses claim they need a minimum of 60kw to DCFC. I wonder if that's a real technical limitation or a recommendation based on imagined use cases.

I also saw a bunch of like “wah wah what about grammar” and to be totally clear: that comes later.

Hooked on phonics aged kids probably don’t really need formal grammar explanations yet. That’s a later stage of learning the language.

Hell it doesn’t even take that long before kids are good enough with written language to just use a dictionary

Also like by the time a kid comes to school in theory they know like lots of words orally and the point of phonics based reading is to connect oral and written language

“You can’t just sound out the word, how will you know what it means?”

Buddy the cues were never gonna solve that problem.

At some point you just gotta tell a kid c-a-t cat is the word for small felines such as Felix and then they’ll go “cool thanks”
Or they just ask…

The thing that hit hardest other than that it’s gut wrenching to hear kids being sad about underperforming at a thing due to the way it was taught, was how much corporate money is wrapped up in doing things the wrong way, because more or less: vibes

reset all my filters and found the guy again and sent an apology/re-offer and he said we should chat more/later (which I'm taking as a good thing, yay)

Just come to Taco Bell with me, can’t be any worse than whatever the AI suggested

(Does mayo clinic have a page on food poisoning? It may have done notes on what might help settle things?)

(I actually would prefer against anything that needs realtime interaction but maybe a friendship improves results mechanic couldn’t hurt, hmmm)

My new unreasonable opinion is wine bag mega voctreebel should’ve been a basic regional form and you need to Pokémon-Amie them to make the kelpsy berry wine better
November 11, 2025 at 11:14 PM
They could hook the berry farm to the village it was next to and make it a part of the train you get into town on to avoid having to remake the skate park ass route on the way there (all the gates being there but dead is hilarious in its own way)
November 11, 2025 at 11:09 PM
I loved the berry farming in SMUSUM and if they coupled that with like the tasks system from SWSH and gave you the keys to the Kalos berry farm in a Z-A DLC I’d be extremely interested

A concierge game would be So Good

I’m Pokopia-curious (I’ll fully probably buy it, even) but I can imagine many other ways to do some poke-farming

It'd be super interesting to see if there are any local owners near these outlying stations or if hydrogen owners really are centralized around SF and LA

looking: oh I had misread. there are three in the ~inner Vancouver metro area and one in Saanich. (and one in Kelowna)

Wonder if that's "probably more for people in Vancouver going to the area" kind of like the one in Truckee, CA

(somehow there's also only one in Sacramento..)
November 11, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Oh that’s hilarious. I saw that one on one of the maps and figured there had to be a few more but didn’t check. There’s some in eastern Canada but same deal, one or two cities

I feel like there’s gotta be a story in there being just one
