Active disregard for the dress code.

#NESJam2025 is over... I worked very, very hard and I'm proud of what put forth-- but I wasn't expecting to win first place!

Aaaaaand we've got player sprites! My little mech-gal translated over to the 8-bit style quite nicely, I think!
I've got tiles and other little graphics done as well, everything's coming up nicely!

The theme for #NESJam2025 caught me a bit off-guard... I was unsure at first how to incorporate a princess into what I had in mind.

But I've got something set up now that fits perfectly, and this project's potential long-term is looking brighter with each bit I get done!

Small enough to keep pressure off, but simple and odd enough to let dumb, funny ideas out too.

Usually does the trick to get me moving on something more "serious" afterwards!

Concepts for a ghost lady from a while back... I never truly *did* decide on colors for her, but I definitely had some favorite combos.

Color trials group A All of these seemed "good enough" to me, but I didn't have a real winner between any of them... so I tried more combinations. Color trials group B 4 really stood out to me here, but I liked 2's blue gloves and 3's bright hair. Color trials group C. I really liked 1 and 4 here. I really leaned toward 4 as my final choice, but something still felt off so it was ultimately undecided and her design was shelved for the time being. Concept sketches! Her outfit and hair were a lot of fun to play with until I landed on something that matched what I had in mind.
