As a peninsula resident traveling weekly to Walnut Creek, I wish either the San Bruno transfer didn’t require a 1k walk or Millbrae had higher frequencies. 2-seat ride w/b fine. A new bridge wouldn’t be necessary.

I guess funding determines whether CAHSR ends at Gilroy, SJ, or SF. I think Newton was considering CAHSR connectivity to the East Bay.

Caltrain is a three county system along the peninsula. I think the talk was to electrify Capitol Corridor.

CAHSR to SF by 2040 isn’t happening. Maybe to SJ/Gilroy connecting to Caltrain.

Good luck getting Solano County into the BART District and pay for high frequencies. Look at BART’s treatment of Millbrae. It’s debatable whether Solano County is part of SF Bay Area.

You’re enabling one-seat rides for communities north of Richmond, but taking away one-seat rides between Northern and Southern branches? That doesn’t make sense. I’d think there’s lots of folks going from Southern branches to Berkeley/North/DT Oakland.

How many reps do you think California has vs Utah and why the disparity?

Trying to get 435 people to agree to something is Really Hard™️. More than that even harder.

Right. What’s the point of paying someone if the work is so meaningful to them that they’re willing to do it for free?

Maybe updating every second is not a good thing? 🤔

Also the incremental gain from eliminating the driver from a bus is much smaller than from a passenger car.

That’s mediocrity.

If you partially apply the brakes, it won’t prevent you from going off the cliff.

For an economist, he doesn’t go much into what he thinks the effects of the tariffs will be.

… the dramatic 20% gains of last year; of a retirement account. People have unrealistic expectations of sustained annual returns.
April 5, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Depends on the baseline. If you opened an account two months ago, then the change is dramatic but the amount is small. If you opened last year, then it’s break even. If you opened two years ago or more, then you’re still way ahead. The premise of the original statement is based on having realized …

Prices are back to last year’s levels. Are you saying that 401ks were not ok last year?

What about cars/passenger and AV/passenger?

Are you suggesting disabled people exist only because of modern medicine and health systems?
