No you're not seeing double 😵😅 Today we drop a second major paper from our group - this time on neuro theory.

It covers non-hierarchical processing, transformations by the thalamus and object reps. These are already informing future versions of Monty, our sensorimotor AI.
New paper dropped! “Hierarchy or Heterarchy? A Theory of Long-Range Connections for the Sensorimotor Brain” The Thousand Brains Theory explains the cortex’s non-hierarchical connections, and why they matter for building machine intelligence.

This week, we’re releasing two milestone papers: one shows the amazing capabilities of thousand-brains systems and their benefits over deep learning, the other proposes a new theory of long-range connections in the neocortex. Years of work led to this.

With the hardware costs of robotics continuing to fall, there's never been a better time to work on sensorimotor intelligence - the missing piece for robotics to fulfill its huge potential.

Thank you to @hf.co @remicadene.bsky.social for continuing to lower barriers with open-source 🙌
Get our 2 robot arms for $299 assembled 🤯

For $199 only, you can get 3d printed parts and motors!!!

It's also nice to assemble it yourself (or with your kids 👶 if you have any)
