Blind boxes are rarely truly blind. There's usually a secondary code somewhere on the box that tells you what's in it.

I've used the info to great effect for lego minifigs, Aphmau plushies and others.

On the entry level, I don't think they are trying to mess up lives. Privileged lives have already gone wrong, and they don't understand that failure for "us" is inconvenient rather than dangerous. Then comes the ragespiral. If we're so privileged, why is our life shit? Must be *insert target here*.

I had a bad breakup and was prime recruitment material.

I have no idea why it didn't work on me but I can see how easy it is to get radicalised. "We understand you, nobody else does... and then just more and more until you're so past the line of what's right.

Speaking as someone who was targeted for recruitment by incels- it's cult tactics.

Validate, isolate, escalate. They try to keep you away from people that actually care and then push you to their ideology. They'll constantly test the next step. It's a frog boiling speedrun.

Absolutely, another gimmicky but delicious burger I've had was an "indian" burger. Masala spiced lamb burger, poppadom, onion bhagee and the mint sauce.

Way nicer that it had any right to be.

My local used to do a mixed grill burger 3 stacks- beef, gammon and lamb. It also did a full English, with hash browns.

The only thing better than bacon on a burger is gammon (which is basically bacon steaks anyway)

Have you tried giving yourself a deadline for something incredibly important?

I have, and for me the past few weeks have been a blur.

I was watching a YouTube home renovation a while ago. They had some mystery disks turning up in random crevasses. They had no idea what they were and how they got there.

They were from this, which also answers how they were in so many impossible places.

There's a documentary/chat between Frank Oz, Dave Goelz, Fran Brill, Jerry Nelson and Bill Baretta called Muppet Guys Talking.

Kindness, joy and love of the art shine through in every second.

And the advice they give has MASSIVE barriers to entry with significant diminishing returns. Where one component can be as much as a decent, lesser, build.

Optimal is the thing that keeps you doing something. Not necessarily the most efficient.

It better have some accurate sword fighting. Choreography has improved a lot since the original... but I'd love it if I could name the masters/schools/techniques.

Is it one of those eco ones that pipe off the excess heat to local facilities, like the public swimming pool?

I'm adding a vote for Bad Science. I really enjoy @bengoldacre.bsky.social and it's an amusing, informative read.
