Robin Häggblom, Finnish defence and national security analyst, Senior Advisor at Risk Intelligence. My business card preaches the value of Knowing Risk.
It also features radical concepts which the American mind can't comprehend, such as voting always taking place on a Sunday to ensure that you don't need to skip work, as well as dispersed early in-person voting.

But turns out the Swedish yard (and state) wasn't happy with the workshare. As all platforms grow in size it is easy to say it would never have worked, but on paper a joint-Swedish/German yard offering Type 212CD and a Gotland/212A-sized boat (including as a Type 209 successor) makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, a major part of the whole conflict was HDW/TKMS didn't think that their Swedish yard would build larger boats that directly would compete with their German designs (the A26 Blekinge is quite a bit larger than the Gotland, something that is easy to forget), but rather focus on littoral/coastal.

I will argue that if someone is unable to understand the instructions with clear examples of the different numbers, they probably shouldn't have their vote counted 😉

On a more serious note, I struggle to believe this actually leads to more misunderstandings compared to the meter-long lists.
Asiattomia merkintöjä löytyi tänäkin vuonna äänestyslipuista – eduskuntavaaleista 17 844 lippua hylkyyn
Sunnuntaisissa eduskuntavaaleissa osa äänestyslipuista hylättiin esimerkiksi ylimääräisten merkintöjen takia.

Another angle to this is that a significant percentage of political ideology deals with the wallet, i.e. how to increase wealth of the nations, how do we share that wealth in a just way, and what is a just share of that wealth for different members of society.

The UK voting system in general is leading to some trends that are difficult to compare one-to-one to most other European countries. But yes, different green parties are interesting, as there aren't any rule that says they need to be left or right by default.

Feels very much like Ukraine tries to keep all avenues open for the day when they do manage to secure the necessary funding for the much needed air force modernisation, while at the same time keeping potential suppliers invested to the point where they are playing a major role in finding the funding

Yeah, the only thing I can honestly come up with is that since it was at an event where both the interim iAFSC programme as well as the eventual AFSC with all the bells and whistles were discussed, he might have been referring to some possible future concept they were offering 🤔

Huh, I remember double-checking with the Northrop sales rep back when discussing that, as I was surprised since I did not believe the triangle elements were a feature of the Hawkeye, and I in fact dug up and double checked my notes from the interview before the original tweet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The E-2D sports three radar elements in the disc, mounted in an equilateral triangle each covering a 120’ sector.

With that said, the blind sectors forward and aft of modern systems like the GlobalEye is narrow enough that I question whether it really can be argued to be a real-world issue.

This might be just a slip, but Andrew Coxall, Production Lead at BAE Systems Australia, says Norway is taking Royal Navy "slots" (plural) when discussing the Australian Hunter-class/SEA 5000-frigate programme with @navalnews.com.

In 2005 an employee of the Åland Islands Peace Institute (!) was living in the house, realised the historical importance of his mail box pole, and contacted the Poles who were eager to get it to a museum. Turns out it is likely the only one left from the battle, as others were scrapped and recycled.
