I have shelves now for my drone equipment! Dad is also going to use these. We are negotiating winter shop sharing. 🤣

I guess I’m a real farmer now. Buying Milwaukee tools. Got a bunch of drone maintenance work to do, was tired of turning the endless hex screws by hand.

Sorry Ryobi. I’m abandoning you.

I have a battery on the way, but I can also just steal Dad’s endless supply. Muahaha

Just one more key so I can get that medal….

Doing 6 1/2 to 7 acres an hour pulling a chisel plow. This feels very boring and slow although it’s not much slower than when we combine the field. There’s more going on when you combine so it’s more exciting.

110 acres of corn left to harvest, but all of our farm storage is full and the one truck driver we have is busy hauling other corn. The other trucker who told me he could ‘work us in’ has ghosted me for the 2nd time. So I’m in this machine today doing some fall tillage.

The effect of a little bit of shade on roof frost.

And sometimes this happens, because the grain cart was already emptying into the truck, and the combine decided to empty out at the same time. 😜

Why won’t this bin fan start?!?!? 🤣
October 20, 2025 at 2:43 PM
Auger up to the corn bin means I’m on top of the bin.
October 9, 2025 at 8:15 PM
This bin is a corn bin. Uhhh. We are not putting corn in it.

Also, never fill a bin through a manhole. Ummm.

This summer, when I was surprised Dad had an obscure tool that I suddenly needed he informed me he had a fully equipped and stocked shop. So every time I’m in the shop looking for a weird tool, Emperor Palpatine’s line springs into my mind: ‘…fully armed and operational battle station’.

Gotta hit at least a 6 pack of this every year

This is a signed book. Shipped to me from Ukraine by the author, who is a soldier on the frontlines. Eight days, from eastern Ukraine to the US. I wonder how long it will take to get to me.

And how much fucking tariff I will have to pay to get it.

Staying in a cute cottage, attempting to destress after the last month.

Processing corn for the freezer this afternoon. Decided I need some liquid corn.

RainDrop

It is awesome. Radar estimated rainfall, reasonably accurate

The home farm caught an inch around 8pm, but look at that stupid dry corridor in Lake Villa.
August 17, 2025 at 10:57 AM
Can’t catch a grain fill rain at the farm. Dammit. Not even a quarter inch this month

Autonomous drone spraying in action! We were spraying manganese foliar fertilizer on the yellowed soybeans.

A thing that happened last week.

Garage isn’t destroyed but it has a tree on it, and it’s no longer sitting square on the foundation. Chainsaw action tomorrow I guess.
June 30, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Uhm. This cell apparently destroyed multiple trees and a garage at the farm. With straight line winds.
June 30, 2025 at 12:13 AM
What’s it like standing 6 feet from a 45 liter capacity spray drone taking off? Welllll:
June 29, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Welp. I’m unemployed*. Cheers.
