Life in the path of Lake Huron’s atmospheric lake-effect snow machine can be frustrating at times, but early in the season it offers a snow-globe type of charm. #LdnOnt #snow

Looks as if the former Boston Pizza on Wonderland Road South is becoming a new Piper Arms location. #LdnOnt

When I taught religion at a church school in the late 1970s, my Grade 11 students were always rapt when I relayed the events of Jan. 21, 1525, in Zurich. I wondered if I'd see the 500th anniversary of #Anabaptism. Yet here we are. The courage of those young men still amazes me.

Late last month, I wrote a column about the passing and legacy of #LdnOnt pipe-organ builder Gabriel Kney. I've followed up with some additional details in a blog post here. artsbeat.ca/2025/01/09/t... #organs #music

The display actually faces the other way, toward the store entrance. But from this side, it makes shoppers feel as if they've travelled into the future. #newyear #retail #LdnOnt

The arrival of Jan. 1 means former Museum London head of administration Cydna Mercer has officially retired. She was recently honoured by Galeries Ontario Galleries for her 24 years of service. For me, she has been a valuable contact. #LdnOnt #art #galleries museumlondon.ca/news/2024/cy...

Just one more note related to my column on Gabriel Kney. Of all the pipe organs he built, this was his favourite: a three-manual, mechanical action organ, comprised of 2,787 pipes, at @uofstthomasmn.bsky.social #organ #music

Listening to #Christmas music from #Australia and #NZ, where snow is absent, drovers replace magi and Christmas is greeted with "Orana!"

"Friarbirds sip the nectar of flowers
Currawongs chant in wattle-tree bowers
In the blue ranges lorikeets calling
Carols of bush birds are rising and falling."

The City of London is asking for residents' help in clearing snow from around fall leaf bags. A press release says collection of bags will resume Saturday in Zone E, then cycle back to Zone A on Dec. 10. It will likely take until Dec. 21 to complete the final leaf pickups. #LdnOnt #recycling #snow

Let’s just say snowfall accumulations vary. Here in southwest #LdnOnt, the overnight total comes in at around 4 cm. Worth shovelling, but barely. #snow #wx

Tale of two cities: Just drove the length of Wonderland Road in #LdnOnt. Partly sunny skies at Southdale; squalls at Fanshawe Park Road. Such is life in the snow belt.
