Last year in the raised beds was pretty good. This year we’re going to try adding BioChar to the beds.

So we won’t be marching with 50501 today. The organizers did not get permits, and a demonstration of any size should. Some our most trusted political action organizations are not attending, which makes us feel unsafe, too.

Speaking of herbs—we harvested enough lavender last year in June and October to last through the winter and beyond. If I make some lavender shortbread cookies before the weekend, I’ll make sure to post photos.

This is not a flower, but a photo taken this morning of the Cooper’s Hawk that has been visiting our garden lately. She sits up in the tree and waits for the voles to come out. Great example of how biodiversity has been increasing at Corner Ketch Garden.

A flower—or herb—a day until the garden blooms again. Mealy blur sage or Salvia farinacea. This one just started growing in the raised beds in late fall, and I decided to keep it.
