For those of you not following along, 14/10 I got hit by a car.
Back broken, but no paralysis. Painful but healing. Slowly.
Hospital scans of my spine also showed a some cysts on my kidneys.
Further tests revealed I have a renal carcinoma.
Getting hit by that car revealed a nascent cancer.
Wtf.

Condolences, now is the time to be with him however you can. I'm certain you've filled his life with magic and love, and the next few hours, days, will hurt keenly.
They could only do thus because of that love. Carry that reminder inside, as he will carry it across the bridge, also. <3

All of which is to say I am incredibly fucking lucky. And I have been blown away by the love and support I've received from friends and family alike. I often dying feel like I deserve any regard, so to be shown just how cared for I am is deeply humbling. I don't know what else to say really.

Those last two might be entirely unrelated but wtf.

Anyway, good news is I have full mobility and sensation in my legs and such - I'm not paralysed.

Bad news is I have four metal rods through my L3 and L5 vertebrae stabilising my L4. I'm going to need rehab to walk and such on my own. (5)

I was X rayed and Ct'd, and I have:

A L4 burst fracture of the vertebrae
A sternum fracture
A minor concussion
Massive bruising to my legs and left side
I have an inner ear issue involving the crystals responsible for balance having been knocked loose.
A UTI
And a cysts on my kidneys. (4)

I woke up 30 seconds later in absolute agony. My pelvis and spine was stabbing deep, shocking spikes of pain through me with every breath. My work friends kept me sane and called an ambulance, and within ten minutes I was at Royal Perth Hospital. (3)

The driver hit me at 40 kph. She apparently did not see me, or the stopped cars at the zebra crossing, or the dozens of other people crossing to the train station, or ANY of the well placed signage or road signs.
According to eye witnesses I flew 3m. (2)

It's a product of the people who created it. Not as refined and upstanding as British, slightly drawly, and willing to take the piss out of itself.
