Inktober 17

I tried some new colored ballpoint pens. Shifted the face over the seam but kept going anyways.

Biggest problem with these pens is that they do not handle being even remotely vertical wall at all. Some colors would stop working after 2-3 lines. Ended up calling it here.

This weekend saw some great progress with my 🎲✂️

My hex strategy game required just a few simple rules tweaks to get it back on track and moving in the right direction.

Rework of my first game is finally at a point to get it back to testing.

A break from the card game was definitely needed.

Any 🎲✂️ people know the specific materials used for playing cards? I have the machinery to do it, but cannot nail the material.

Every combo has led me to a dead end. Straight card, double layered card, paper sandwiching a card core.

All with the same issue they feel more like banners than cards.

Inktober day 2 Spiders

All done with only ballpoint pen.

I like this one in person more than photograph. Definitily learned some things on this one.

Forcing myself back to the basics with Decay. 🎲✂️

Its both hard and exciting because this is absolutely what needed to happen to get me unstuck.

Question I am currently pondering.

Does being a better play-tester make you a better game designer?

Did some more work on this portrait last night.

Learning a lot about how to use the crayons. Its not perfect but I like a lot if things about it.

Current board game design struggle🎲✂️ struggle?

I am working on a card game where you build a public discard track. When the track reaches 10 it is moved into a secondary discard to shuffle into the deck when you run out of cards.

What do I call this secondary pile? hmmm

One of the board game design pitfalls I find myself in is overmaking prototypes.

However I view it as expanding my skill set. It doesnt hurt that I have all the cool tools thanks to my business.

Box making from scratch, quad fold game boards from scratch. Next is higher quality cards.

Relatively new to Board Game Design. But have been extremely fortunate to be part of the space the last few years thanks to my company Terragon Gaming.

I am thankful for my business partner pushing me to pursue my passions and dive head first into developing my own games, not just accessories.
