To all of the centrist, wish washy, it’s just a joke, people out there: It’s not just a joke. You’re using the same rhetoric that people who actively hate and hurt people use, and using comedy as a justification for saying hateful stuff just because it’s what you’re used to doing is also harmful.

Texas State Rep. Tom Oliverson filed a bill Wednesday that would amend the Texas Penal Code to create a new form of fraud: "Gender Identity Fraud." This bill will effectively make any trans person in Texas who is caught to be put in prison for two years, a felon, and charged with a $10,000 fine.
