Senior Game Designer @ Magic: the Gathering #wotcstaff
I designed CLB, ACR, the Spider-Man set, and over 30 Commander decks (he/him)
Currently the council is focusing making sure going wide with creatures is an exciting strength for white. Less about new space and more about emboldening iconic strengths. Also fyi we don’t really like treasure in white unless it’s from opponent actions

theyre only cool if you feel cool while wearing them (not a faux pas)

i think some of the fun in commander is changing your win-cons every now and then and seeing how many cool ways you can win with a deck

How dare you design a checkerboard symbol. It’s so hard to carve without a chisel ;_;

Alakazam was my main mega, alongside Mawile. Just got closer to end-game and am now pivoting to a full-normal type team ft Drampa as my main partner

You’re probably aware, but Orb is a creature type! Unfortunately Maskwood Nexus and Arcane Adaptation are not spherical, so there’s no fitting cards to turn all your creatures into orbs #wotcstaff

I got like 20 but kept getting got by the solo partners. Then I checked them off and started hitting solo "Choose a Background" or "Friends Forever" and forgetting the solo thing x.x (My rule of thumb is to generally pick the card with more colors)

It’s inspired by those but functions differently in some ways. It can probably work with commander decks, but the decks it comes with are certainly optimized for a more intuitive play experience. (For example, we avoid cards that give opponents a choice!)

Parent + child is EXACTLY what we hoped this co-op experience could cater to!

Theres additional guidance in the bundle for two new players approaching it, too.

It’s designed to be best with an experienced player plus a new player to play. Co-op is nice since the experienced player can explain the game actions without breaking the conceit of competition. There’s lots of ways to take these decks and play within the bundle, too!

10/10. A perfect encapsulation of art, life, and all that lies between

Finally, "Gathering." Oh how the final act blooms in climactic fanfare! A word to represent community, assembly, the ritual of like souls sharing experience! If the artist has compressed all of civilization and joy into eleven simple, subtle letters, they can pick no other fitting combination.

Next comes the "the." So small, so seemingly utilitarian, yet regal in its humility! It's a sturdy bridge joining the nations of chaos and order. Abstraction and Manifestation grasp each other, only touching through the conduit of the humble "the." Wheeler gently places this word in exact purpose.

"Magic." With this first word, the artist means to impress a feeling of shimmering incantation as both noun and verb. It whispers of wonder, leaving the reader to fill in the gap with their own imagination. It's limitless. It's spiritual. It reaches only meanings that the viewer is capable of.
