I have too many business ventures.” Her glower is still sharp. Ah there it is. A slight blemish of a crack over her heart. I hold on to her roughly as I lick the crack. My saliva reforms the crystal. “Good as new.” Turning back to the screens “Oooh. You know, it’s cute that we share two things in common. Our love for Kurai and our hate for Haelius. … What’s that? What do you mean I don’t love her! Excuse me?! This is all for her! … Shut up. I’m a proud mother just trying to watch her baby score the winning kick…. Here it comes! … Yea!” I start jumping up and down. Wrapping my arms around Hokulani’s imprisoned body. “She’s a merciless murderer!” Rubbing my face against Hokulani, sharing my excitement with her. We keep watching.

So the word argue is not used in On Darkness but arguments do happen. Here is one between the mc and the li/bff. Mc's adult children are also present and watching the fight.
Koriath sighed heavily. "Whatever it was, it was working for Her." Hokulani investigated Koriath's eyes, and then gazing at Kurai's, then back toward him with her ears back and tail still. Koriath lowered his head and wings toward Hokulani, then softly nodded. She opened her arms for a hug. He ran to her, holding her tight as he started to cry. Whispering to Hokulani in her language "I never told them. I never told Kurai she was cursed. She does not remember. Thank you for not telling her." Hokulani responds in her tongue as well. "Koriath, you're going to need to tell her. She is still being hunted, isn't she?" Crying with him as she nuzzled his chin, then putting her head under his. Phantisma whispered over to Kurai "I think this is how they talk to each other." "I feel like as guardian I need to know, but I'm not sure I want to." Kurai whispered back to Phantisma as they kept talking. "Wait, you are right. Listen, they are speaking to each other. What language is that?" "I have no clue. I have never heard it before. Aw’ddy seems to know it well though." He beat his wings once. Hokulani sighed. "Kori, your daughters are older than you were when your mother left you the throne. Kurai is the guardian now, she won't be home very much. You know what this job does." She pulls from under his chin, looking into his deeply garnet eyes with her golden gaze. Her ears and tail straight up. "They are not hatchlings anymore. You cannot keep them safe in an umbridium tower all their lives. Tell them." His wings arched and his feathers puffed out, as he gently put both his talons on her shoulders. "How?” He purposely speaks with a self-mocking tone. “Hey, my princesses guess what? When you two were small, Kurai was kidnapped and given to Evil Incarnate?” His sarcasm surrenders, his natural voice now trembles with the gravity of the situation. Tears cascade from his eyes. “Is that what I tell them?"

Some things I've painted, the one with the orange background is stone tools made of jade and (I forgot what the blue one was) found in southern Japan. This was for an archeology class at UTRGV. The other is just a night beach for funzies. <3
