For #saturdaySolitude - the aftermath of a huge fire at a car dealership in #bellevue, outside #Seattle, May 2015. (Reminded of these by some amazing shots @ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social had taken of another, similar fire somewhere in the UK!)

Burned out cars and pickup trucks - twisted masses of rusting metal, red-brown, grey-blue and green - some upright, others upside down, revealing abstract, eroded mechanical sections amongst the decay. A lone burned out, rusted car surrounded by grey asphalt - almost twisted beyond recognition. Open boot of a burned out car surrounded by other wreckage. Yet more burned out cars - one with the structure of the roof sagging downwards, presumably from the intense heat of the fire.

For #monochromemonday - deep inside #Seattle's Central Library are some corridors and stairways that are completely, inexplicably, bright red and shiny. From October 2011.

Miscellaneous #mosstodon from Shining Cliff Woods, #Derbyshire, last weekend.
Gnarled tree trunk, splitting off into many thick branches, all covered in green moss, in an early spring woodland with ivy, brambles and fallen leaves. Lumpen, scarred silver birch trunks seen from a low angle, past which can be seen small rocks covered in fluffy green moss and leafless trees beyond that, with the glare of a setting sun. Fallen branches over a vague ditch, former barely recognisable with dense moss cover, surrounded by sparse brambles and fallen leaves. Bare tree trunk growing out of a wooden hillside, base and roots covered in moss.

Thick, tightly bound bundles of thin, old wiring, branching out into ever-smaller tributaries before ending at many rows of dark screw terminals - resembling more a dissected nervous system than a rack of telephone exchange hardware.
