Hello everyone! I'm Opal, a transmasc demiboy that goes by he/him. Will fill this out properly some time soon <3
For Lan:
-His parents dying
-Caring for orphans of war
-Anger at Garleans and Confederates
-Fighting the Primals
-Being driven from Ul'dah
-Fighting in wars
-Allies being killed/taken to the First
-Almost became a Lightwarden
-Watching people become Blasphemies

Lan has trauma in spades XD

Lan, birth name Haru, after losing his parents to a Garlean assault on his village. He got taken in by the Confederacy and lived as a pirate until the start of ARR.

Opal, pre-transition and birth name Hiina, living her best, curious life exploring the waters around Sui-no-Sato.

No worries, I'm glad you like him! :D

Pretty much, but Opal is a he - he's trans-masc, like me :)

Opal grew up supressing the hell out of his draconic ancestry, so it acts up when negative emotions rear their heads. If he gets scared by something, his lightning magic will discharge, hurting anyone nearby, and will leave him with a random wild magic effect.

Lan hasn't changed very much, he's relaxed a bit in his personality and embraced himself and his past more, but physically he hasn't really changed.

Opal has changed the most, from a cute, dorky Auri girl to a cute, dorky demiboy Miqo'te. He's changed a lot, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Unsure if Lan likes energy drinks, but I think they would have the opposite effect on Opal. He gets sleepy after drinking cola during dinner out.

Both Lan and Opal do. Lan notably so, being a usually big and scary-looking Au Ra, actually warmed up to Dulia Chai due to her playing with his hair and braiding flowers into it. He goes on to see her as an adoptive mother due to her immediate love for him and Alphinaud.

Lansora is a strong swimmer. Being raised in the Confederacy, he needed to learn how in case he went overboard. Opal, despite being raised under the sea in Sui-no-Sato, loves to swim but isn't very strong. He resorts to doggy paddle most of the time and is much slower than his friends and Lansora.

Both Opal and Lan are only children, but Opal doesn't think much of it. Lan always seemed to have a connection with the youth of his village, and even after losing his parents, Lan grew up taking care of the other children displaced to the Confederacy, so he's always felt like a big brother :)

Lansora has a therapy auspicie shiba inu named after his father, Tadaari. He lost his parents when he was young, and after a big mental break during Stormblood, he went back to his hometown to fully come to terms with their deaths. Turns out his dad wish an auspicie into existence at Lan's birth <3

Opal and Lan would have been total opposites of each other. Opal would be a teacher's pet, while Lan would have goofed off enough for Opal to tell on him. They would have hated each other if they met at a younger age, but they've since mellowed out and are able to meet in the middle :)

Opal on the other hand has technically died once, but hasn't come close any other time. He sacrificed himself alongside G'raha in Ultima Thule so that Lan, who is Azem's shard, could reach Meteion. He's traumatised from his experiences, which results in him getting therapy from the party's leader.

Lansora nearly died twice - once by almost turning into the mother of all Lightwardens, and then again at the Edge of the Universe trying to defend his friend from Zenos. His Esteem has permanently changed into a Sin Eater, so he's able to merge with it and transform at will with Ryne's help.

Opal and Lansora can both swim. Lansora learned during his time with the Confederacy, while Opal learned as a method of escaping Sui-no-Sato for a while. Opal isn't a strong or faster swimmer, but he can get by.
