It was a pleasure to be at Bletchley Park to show off our work on deciphering 17th century shorthand using AI that we have developed. It's a work in progress and we intend to open source it in order to help historians read the tens of thousands of unread pages of shorthand! #earlymodern #ai

Here's some other information from this year's report. The breakdown of consumer market segments:
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
You'll notice that the green list of manufacturers that comply with best practices is filled with some very big names that sell huge volumes of different forms of connected products. They're all doing the right thing.
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
Nearly two thirds of IoT manufacturers don't visibly do anything at all. And that's just the bit we can see - what does the actual product look like that they produce? That is pretty frightening. Here's the amber list (the red list is too long to post in one image!)
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
This figure has shifted upwards from our original report where we showed that less than 10% of manufacturers had a way for security researchers to contact them.
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
The headline figure shows that the adoption of vulnerability disclosure policies by manufacturers is better, but still only around 35.5% of the overall market.
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
The number of manufacturers has substantially grown from 331 in the original report to 458 in the current one. Our dataset has expanded out into the 'long tail' of manufacturers meaning that we're really getting a true sense of what the state of product security looks like.
November 25, 2024 at 10:44 AM
We've been producing this report on behalf of the IoT Security Foundation for some time now, this will be the seventh edition. Over those years, we've tried to maintain the approach so that we can get an accurate picture of the state of the market.
