I imagine when he chose his specialty he hoped to show the past to help the future Russia avoid a repeat. Why he kept on after the Putin lurch to Stalinism I wonder, but maybe the lurch was not so dramatic yet in 2022.

If you ever get a chance check out the Swansea museum, a small house formerly owned by a Victorian club. Very odd but the exhibits I remember most.

I do think the American culture is to not be subservient. Most will react with anger rather than fear when attacked AND when their neighbor is attacked.

I am trying to focus on the resisters in MN, the people working to bring awareness of Gaza and Sudan and Myanmar and .... and keep the horrors of the world in everyone's face. I do have faith that if horrors are not hidden they will eventually end.

Mr. Carney, PM of Canada, today in Davos described the present and the possible positive future. Most important speech I have ever heard. "Nostalgia is not strategy" was one important line.

I found the speech most hopeful, a clear eyed vision of the present and for the future. If only Europeans will answer his call to stand firm and move towards tge future and not "be complicit."
