Forced treatment is a political talking point, not a real solution.

It LOOKS like action but often causes more harm.

Voluntary, accessible, person-centered care should be the priority, but that doesn’t make for flashy headlines. Politics shouldn’t come before real solutions.

The first intervener is representing some of the families living in the Leslieville area. They say that "the ripple effects of South Riverdale were too much for the community to bear".

"Two things can be true: we should work to prevent overdose deaths and also protect children."
