It is 101 years ago today since Emmanuel Merchant the great co-operator and philanthropist died and a year since our wonderful graveside rededication service 🙏🏼
I was so proud we renovated his grave and held a service attended by 70+ co-operators on a freezing cold day.

Rest in Peace President Jimmy Carter. A truly good man and a committed humanitarian.

It’s 11 years today since Michael Schumacher had the awful ski-ing accident that has left him paralysed - we don’t know full details as there’s no updates, no photos & only a handful of selected visitors who never disclose but he is believed to have brain damage.

Today we at Central Co-op donated a large quantity of pet food to the Ark Animal Rescue Centre in Ashbourne. Fabulous rescue centre - simply the best.

Central Co-op’s Toy Appeal Van 🚛 has been out in Rutland and Cambridgeshire today at Oakham and Donington despite the cold ❄️❄️
One couple bought an entire trolley full of new toys, amazing ! 🧸🪆

Today Central Co-op’s Toy Appeal van 🚛 has been in Chesterfield and Doncaster. 🎄🎅🏻
We’ve also held a Get To Know Your Co-op mini meeting which was very well attended. 🥳

Today at Central Co-op we cut the ribbon on the newly named Emmanuel Merchant room, named after a philanthropist co-operator who was General Manager of the former Derby Society and doubled it in size. We renovated his grave for the 100th anniversary of his death last January.

Tomorrow our Central Co-op Toy Appeal van 🚛 will be at IBSTOCK at 9.30am for the fab team there ! At 1pm we will be at ANSTEY and we round the day off at CASTLE DONINGTON at 3.30pm
Please donate a new toy for a child who wouldn’t otherwise receive one.
