to make it simpler you are used to the button placements on one controller so you press the wrong ones on the controller with different button placements

shame truly comes when you use a switch controller to an xbox controller you forget that A is on the bottom B is on the right side Y is on the top and X is on the left side on the xbox controller so you now end up pressing the wrong buttons because of it i hated when that happens it is so painful...
