Could it be a locale issue? I don't know about this specifically, but I know old VNs especially (including translated ones) can get really fussy if they don't like your system locale

It's less about liking Plasma and more about wanting to use Wayland. Unfortunately, 16 years down the line, Wayland implementations are still spotty and inconsistent. Also, as someone who uses Fedora every day, I wouldn't recommend it over Mint for someone new

Mint is good! Wayland is weird. It's one of the most mishandled parts of modern Linux and it's unfortunately also very important to the user experience

If you're using drawing tablets (especially on Linux) I would say to use opentabletdriver.net because it helps a lot with getting many different tablets to behave
