I’ve seen “It’s A Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Carol” dozens of times. I have thus learned that:

(1) despite the years and ocean between them, Ebenezer Scrooge and George Bailey are actually in the same business, and

(2) there is no more Christmas-y profession than mortgage banking.
