My 70’s era BBC 2 ident clock from @hiddenbritain.bsky.social is even better than I’d hoped for!

The Mince Pie season is underway!
This is the one aspect of the Christian Mid Winter festival I don’t mind starting early.

Finally, after years (and I do mean years) I’ve got my HP micro server set up in my very ramshackle “home lab” cupboard.

The view from the top of Troopers Hill in Bristol UK.
This shows how dry it’s been this summer

Was very surprised to almost walk in to a deer on my morning walk up Troopers Hill this morning. I think it was to, we spent a 10 seconds looking at each other before I reached for my camera. I missed the perfect shot of it looking back at me, but here it is.

Well it’s the 9th actually, I can show the 10th (taken at work) but it sort of fits

And it's done!
My first completed Blender model, a Dalek from the cover of the 1964 Dalek Book.
I know it's still not quite right, but I'm still learning this and it's really difficult to get proper proportions from the artwork in the book.

Here’s a challenge for an advertising agency, how do you create a campaign for the single most produced manufactured item in history?
(LEGO bricks don’t count, they aren’t a finished item)

…so he doesn’t lose work when Word crashes?
August 5, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Worked from home today.
One advantage of this (it’s not all up sides!) is that I can go for a lunchtime walk in St. Anne’s wood.
A truly wonderful little bit of woodland surrounded by houses, but you can easily forget that here.

Spotted this little chap on the Netham lock sign this morning while waiting for the Ferry, I think he needs to go back to camouflage school!

'Dalek! Very primitive, but undeniably a Dalek'
The very first render of my attempt to build a 3D Dalek model based on the 1964 Dalek Book version of the iconic foes.
The proportions are wrong, the colours are wrong and its far from done, but I am learning #Blender as I create it.

Giving my gaming laptop a bit of a workout, building the Clang complier.
A complier compiling a complier, we are in Inception territory here!

The fruits of my labours in what feels like Hells Kitchen this weekend.
A Tea Loaf, Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate Marble cakes, all for the charity bake sale at work on Tuesday.
Will I ever feel cool again?

What you get when a hoarder (me!) finally breaks and clears out their ‘bits’ cupboard. Now all I need to do is to get rid of it!

Can you guess what it is yet?
