As much as I hate Chris Pratt, Bowser did kinda kidnap Luigi, had one of his soldiers knock him and DK off of Rainbow Road and into the ocean, forced Peach to marry, almost had Luigi dipped into lava and threaten to blow up the entire kingdom. Tbf the Wii was a hella popular console and that game sold incredibly well. I can imagine a lot of younger Gen Z and some gen alpha kids being exposed to the Wii era games through hand me downs and families keeping old systems
