In the end the Munich Agreement was signed and Czechoslovakia was forced to scede the territory to the Nazis. This appeasement of Hitler was lauded by the British Prime Minister who said, "We have preseved peace for our time." Within a year the entire country was invaded by Germany.

I feel it's important to remind us all that in 1938 the British and French met with Hitler's German government to discuss how Germany could annex Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland. Representatives from the Czech government were not invited to attend.
