Was he to stay like this then? Not floating in a space nor laying upon solid ground, simply, existing. How did this happen, was he kidnapped? No, Data recalled an explosion. A pair of concurrent thoughts followed one another in a rapid fashion. He hoped the Enterprise would find him soon. And, Did Geordi know Data was active? He would be worried, Data knew that to be a highly probable outcome.

I don't have anything new I can share, so take this old one where Ferdinand definitely doesn't comfort Hubert like he's a horse.

"You are safe with me, Hubert." Ferdinand slowly ran his hand down from Hubert's shoulder to his hand to make his intentions clear and give Hubert time to mentally prepare. A set of large, ungloved fingers intertwined with Hubert's own spindly gloved ones. There was something about the motion that felt strangely familiar, as if Ferdinand often did so when Hubert knew that to be untrue. "I shall never leave your side, I swear of it." To ignore the rapid beating of his heart, Hubert attempted to pinpoint where exactly he had seen Ferdinand perform such an action beforehand. Then Ferdinand lifted Hubert's hand to his lips, and it clicked into place. "Ferdinand," Hubert began tentatively, for his theory felt absurd. "Are you treating me like a horse?" Silence. Incriminating silence. "Ferdinand." "I am not well versed in comforting people!" Ferdinand protested. "I try but it never feels enough and you matter so much to me I would rather try out a tried and tested method than fail when it matters." He grew steadily redder as he spoke, hair bouncing and flying out of his ponytail. The strangest part was, Hubert felt he didn't mind. Shameful as it was to admit, Hubert spent no little amount of time watching Ferdinand work in the stables, wishing it was his hair that Ferdinand stroked instead or to be gazed at with a modicum of the adoration Ferdinand bestowed upon his steeds "Your smile will always be my favourite,"

It's still Wednesday here so it's time for a nice little ferdibert massage!!
"Alright, but I shall reciprocate once you are finished." Hubert hummed, seemingly in agreement, but Ferdinand knew he would have to convince Hubert that he deserved the same love and attention he so generously bestowed upon Ferdinand day after day. Long, elegant fingers gently swept Ferdinand's hair across one shoulder, brushing the nape of his neck in the process with ungloved hands. It was no little achievement for Hubert to agree to tuck his gloves away, certain as he was that the scars that adorned his hands were a sign of a nefarious nature that lay beneath. It took many a kiss and tender touch, coupled with the confession that Ferdinand wished to know all of him, that Hubert acquiesced. As the tips of Hubert’s ashen fingers pressed into stiff shoulders, Ferdinand released a sigh of contentment, knowing Hubert trusted him with his secrets and vulnerabilities was more than he ever thought possible. "You are very tense, my love. Who do I need to eliminate to alleviate this?" Hubert spoke his words into Ferdinand's skin, pressing kisses to the spots neglected by his hands. Ferdinand knew Hubert was joking, he would not risk another chastisement from Edelgard but he did so love to argue with him. "Please do not poison the barons I met with today, last time you did I had to hear about their sudden sickness from them for many moons afterwards. I simply had too many meetings today." "I could act in your place tomorrow, you could surmount the paperwork pile or attend the lunch with Dorothea you have rescheduled twice now." Hubert suggested. With his hands trailing down Ferdinand's back working through the knots as he found them, it nearly coaxed Ferdinand into saying yes. "But you are already spread far too thin, I would never dream of adding to that-oh-" Ferdinand gasped as Hubert massaged a particularly tense spot on his lower back. "Darling, have you ever considered a change in careers?" Hubert snorted. "To what, becoming your personal masseuse? I could hardly live in the palace at that rate." "You could be the Imperial masseuse-oh, but I would be rather jealous of others receiving your attentions." Ferdinand mused. "Remember the day the daughter of the Albinean ambassador kept touching you and laughing at everything you said? I know it is unreasonable but oh how I loathed her,”

Ferdibert wip Wednesday time in which a noble interrupts Hubert's pining, and he *does not* appreciate it.
Ferdinand's throat bobbed as he sipped at his glass of water, the gentle movement upsetting the curls that clung to his collarbone for a mere moment as they fought to settle back into place, as if nothing had ever changed. If Hubert twirled one of the molten ringlets with his own hand as Ferdinand was wont to do, would it spring back into position, loyal and obedient, or unfurl, accepting the change and adapting to it? Or if Hubert should dare to trace his finger along Ferdinand's collarbone, to define it, to grow from it, would there be a mark left of him, or simply a shadow passing through the light? Ferdinand gave a charismatic smile, one that did not reach his golden eyes or exhibit the dimple in his left cheek, yet Hubert's fingers itched, yearned to pull at it, to stretch it, to, to- "Minister Vestra?' Hubert snapped to attention. Unable and unwilling to keep a glower from his face as he faced the man who interrupted him. "What is it?" Seemingly unphased by the icy treatment, a smarmy grin appeared on the duke's face as he discovered the sight that kept Hubert so enthralled. "The Prime Minister of your lands is a sight to behold, isn't he? I have his hand procured for my eldest daughter, she will make him a fine wife, indeed." His hand slipped on the glass, caught between incredulity and bemusement Hubert replied. "Is that so?" "Quite so. He informed me of his ardent desire to meet such a lovely woman as he put it." The duke tugged at his lapels as he puffed out his chest. It was almost laudable how the duke had misconstrued Ferdinand's open chivalry and diplomacy as genuine interest in his affairs. Knowing Ferdinand he likely did take an interest in the way agriculture had adapted to the harsh climate, yet whether that interest extended to the duke's daughters... A spark of jealousy threatened to kindle itself within his stomach, a feeling Hubert was well acquainted with. Jealously wielded its whips skillfully, leaving lacerations as Ferdinand danced with the line of ladies that awaited him a charming smile for each as the pile of proposals Ferdinand received grew ever taller. Yet as the fire licked at his skin, a ringing laugh reminded him of the truth. As optimistic as Ferdinand was inclined to be, he was equally as stubborn, for some unknown reason he was committed to courting Hubert with all propriety and gentleness he had foolishly claimed Hubert deserved on that chilly night. It was with a smile hidden behind his glass that Hubert responded to the duke. "I can assure you the Prime Minister's interests lay elsewhere,"

Edelgard heard a crack as the spine of the quill became limp, no doubt Hubert had noticed too. "I wish you all the happiness, you deserve nothing less than that." "This is a rare occasion indeed, as I fear I must correct you, your Majesty. I have laid out extensive plans to one day, to convince the one I hold in my thoughts that our courtship would be beneficial to them. For I must admit without stoking your curiosity, that this person is not one Ms Arnault." "Oh? Then, may I ask who it is you are so endeared to?" Judging by the smile tugging at Hubert's mouth, Edelgard had failed at keeping the relief she felt hidden from her friend. "As I have said previously, I had particularly wished to keep the name a secret from you." Her eyes crinkled as a smirk played at her lips, as secretive and covert as Hubert was and liked to think himself, Edelgard has known him practically since her birth, he could not hide the light in his eyes as he argued with his paramour, nor the near insistence at attending to his side in battle. She had heard the name brought up enough times during their private meetings to hazard a rather educated guess in her opinion as to who had joined her as the focus of Hubert's rather intense devotion. "I still struggle to understand why you have kept such a fascinating development from me, considering the vast array of goals he is intertwined with!” "While that may be the case-" Hubert stilled and Edelgard felt an unrestrained smile break out on her face the way it only could around her closest companions. Caught in her trap, a flush appeared beneath the hand covering his cheeks as a deep chuckle escaped him, "very well done, your Majesty. Despite my objection to being the object of such a display, I must commend you, I see your capabilities truly know no bounds." Edelgard shrugged her shoulders. "I learned from the best,”
