That one’s so much fun! Ossie Davis is great alongside Bruce Campbell

Exactly, it was a lived in space. But a space that had served innumerable functions over the years. There was an unspoken history of place that didn’t and couldn't exist in other series

And now that I think about it, the reality of DS9 was very much the rusty, greasy, layered, infrastructure making the realities of Next Gen and Voyager possible

Seems like “Never been profiled on a tabloid podcast” is a LinkedIn flag that should exist

I have adored that moment ever since I first saw it. It’s so fleeting, so routine, that it’s easy to miss. But rarely has a few seconds have carried so much meaning to so many people. I will always remember the first time this came up with a trans friend and how they saw it.

Also, DS9 leaned really hard into the trans subtext of the Trill. Which, at the time, was vitually unheard of, not to mention that it was so well coded, that while being patently obvious, the mainstream didn’t bat much of an eye

Very much so. DS9 was not only a change in tone, but venue for ST. Voyager was a return to form after DS9’s aberrative thread. DS9 was allowed to explore the grittier fringes of the ST reality. A place where the Federation was not, and had never been, the dominant authority was absolutly wild

Well, I’ll say it’s definitely worth a watch, and it carries its own, distinct feel from the theatrical version. If you watch with English dubs, be prepared for a different dub than came on prior editions. It’s a bit more stilted than the older one, but seems more accurate to the source script

Sisko rocks, I’ve always loved how he bucked so many Star trek captain tropes and openly defied the Federation in ways that would never have happend in prior series. I didn’t finish DS9 during its original run as college got in the way, but when I did, it became one of my top tier Star Trek series

Oof, that’s awful. Hopefully the both of you will be on the mend soon.

Reppin’ Shin Godzilla while getting the science out there…

…Nice

Have you seen the orthochromatic version of that one yet?

Pretty sure a Worf and Geordie freakout episode or even scene would be peak Star Trek.
November 18, 2025 at 5:20 AM
In all likelihood, because the track system and cars haven’t been improved upon since the early ‘80s. It’s just been necessary maintenance since then. And I say this as one who is old enough to remember when Fern Rock was just a simple bench/shelter stop on the line into the city proper

As a dyed in the wool athiest, this is deeply wrong and a serious breach of Americans’ rights. Those federal agents are criminals. It’s not right, not acceptable, it’s immoral, unethical, and just wrong. @govpritzker.illinois.gov, please apply more pressure on these tools of evil and prosecute them

And this one too

Deep respect to them both
