College Closures since 2008 (Two ways). Interesting (in an academic sense) to see the mass closures of for profit colleges and now the rise in private nonprofit closures. Public colleges/universities might be the big test. #AcademicSky #EduSky #HigherEd

Felder's Teaching & Learning STEM (2016) is another wonderful read that provides some insight. He write's that skilled professionals routinely receive training before being certified to practice. But it is a bad assumption that because you have a degree in a subject, you must know how to teach it.

Wankat's The Effective, Efficient Professor (2002) remains an all time favorite and inspiration for the dead podcast and the book. Forgive the double headlines but it was that good when first read. Most professors never formally study teaching.

Phillip Wankat's The Effective, Efficient Professor: Teaching, Scholarship and Service is an excellent book for all academics. It's older and could use a refresh, but at this point so can I. An integral text for writing our TCP book. (How dare he put teaching first). #AcademicSky #EduSky #HigherEd

Thanks for the offer. Here's the working book cover. If all goes to plan, March 2025 release with a small publisher. Mostly advice for first time adjuncts, administrators that might hire them, but also (we think) helpful for instructors in general. We'll post more as we get closer to release!
