Three brain cells shared between two dogs, a wife, a daughter, and myself. #MedSky #Pharmacy #AI
I saw an article about prion disease a few years ago; a discussion on chronic wasting disease in North American deer populations.
It's just niche - treatment is limited to supportive care in humans and euthanasia in animals. My college texts in bio and biochem spent less than a page total on this.

Full agreement, I appreciate your perspective here. It's a disservice to beneficiaries/patients that off-label but well-studied interventions require peer-to-peer appeals to even get close to having claims approved.

Excellent work, congrats to your teams and thank you for sharing! Q: given the very high bioavailability through IM route (93%) -- do you see that as a viable alternative to IV administration? Would certainly expand its use. #medsky

I probably won't be back on here for a while until I get more of a solid flow. My priority is being a good golden retriever in a button up so I'm avoiding instant gratification social media until I can trust that I'm taking care of the stuff that really matters. Hope all the bsky peeps are well.

I have started using the Building a Second Brain method touted by Tiago Forte to (incremental but noticable) success. Fuck you, ADHD -- thanks Apple Notes.

My wife and unborn daughter are well. Still some nausea, malaise, and bloating present, but the second trimester is going well.

Working night shift was a saving grace for me. When I have to join the living, I result to caffeine and self-deprecating jokes about how tired I am.

The question for clinicians: use shorter durations or accept renal dysfunction risk?
A patient with kidney disease could still benefit from remdesivir for severe COVID19, or posaconazole for certain fungal infections. More on excipients' toxicities tomorrow.

Cyclodextrin, a ring of carbohydrates shaped like a barrel, interacts with poorly soluble drugs & water, solubilizing stubborn drugs. But it accumulates in impaired renal function, risking further renal impairment.

Between Death Grips and the Danny Brown x JPEGMAFIA collab, I put the “*harm” in “pharmacy”
