Canada thought that was that. But America (and Americans) were pissed. A lot of fresh Americans joined Mackenzie in The Patriot War. Which they very much lost, but it did eventually help put an end to The Compact.

After The War of 1812, Canada fell under the rule of a group of oligarchs known as “The Family Compact.” They counted themselves as benevolent leaders, but not everyone agreed.

The guy who disagreed most was this dude: William Lyon Mackenzie.
