Exactly the same is happening in the Netherlands. We now get push notifications by NOS (the Dutch BBC) on random sport events. Annoying.

That’s awesome. Can’t wait to see my son play these games under the Christmas tree in about 4 years. Lovely post, at the same time it brings back a ton of memories to my own SNES memories.

To be fair, I stopped getting hyped on these type of (video) announcements. Too often, I’ve been disappointed by the actual product (e.g. Sora). So, I think it will not match the utility of Deep Research. At least, not at launch. Let’s hope for the best, though!

Perhaps a more positive example is Bluesky, where mutual respect in thread conversations is in a completely different place when compared to X. I do have to add that my opinion is definitely biased haha.
