The least we can do is put council workers on the living wage. Make sure you’re not voting for boot leather.
To live a dignified, full life in Aotearoa, a person needs to be paid at least $28.95 an hour. In this local election, your vote can support the living wage in local government.
Visit psa.org.nz/local2025 to find out more about the living wage in local government, and which candidates support it.

The Government's announced sick day legislation changes strip minimum leave entitlements from part time workers.

The changes will take a few years to come into practical effect, and union members with sick leave entitlements stated in Collective Agreements will not be affected. Join your union!

You cannot be disciplined for, or stopped from, talking about your pay rate.

Not only that, your employer also can't refuse to offer you a promotion or disadvantage you in any way on the basis of you talking about your pay. Thanks to Camilla Belich’s 2025 Employment Relations Amendment Bill.
