"Nuclear thus remains the dispatchable low-carbon technology with the lowest expected costs in 2025." But yes, Solar and Wind are getting competitive.

Never said French regulations were lightweight.

Are they really still paying you for this?

Some vaccines are fine, but we have way too many we don't need and some of them aren't just vaccine. Problematic.

The comparison of US and France is notable. The US regulates the heck out of nuclear, which increased the cost significantly. A lot of the regulation is punitive and not necessary, much like O&G is getting lately, in favor of "green" energy. The policy thumb is on the scale, so not a true comparison

Yeah, it would be a better investment to go nuclear, less materials investment and higher return on investment.

Highly debatable that the 30-something vaccines children are given to day are all saving lives. And if there is a strong link between harmful side effects, weighing that against the benefits of *possible* avoidance of disease or death is a priority. There's probably only 4 or 5 must-have vaccines.

Dang they're old

I'm talking about the physical materials used to build solar panels. Not to mention how much square footage would it take to pave the nation in panels. Solar has value but not much for carbon reasons, which are still debatable.

All my conservative friends are joining, we're all leaving Twitter/X since this is the new place to be. It's a clone of X but it's the hot new thing.
November 20, 2024 at 3:41 AM
But is it sustainable growth? Can we dig enough of those toxic materials out of the ground to keep up with demand? China also has a big say in who gets some and who doesn't.
November 20, 2024 at 3:40 AM
Eventually all those solar panels fail and the toxic waste has to go somewhere... I'm sure it won't affect our children and grandchildren, right?
November 20, 2024 at 3:37 AM
LOL trying to undo what the natural world has done forever, and make people poorer through taxes while you're at it. That'll work, right? LOL
