Maybe try “Part of Your World” by Abby Jimenez. It’s the first in a series of loosely-intertwined contemporary romance novels. She doesn’t shy away from serious issues but there’s always plenty of humor, too.

I lost an hour (including my teen getting valedictorian), which would have been been three if not for the mercy of MCCC’s auto-save setting. So frustrating!
