Earlier this year we had a beautiful show of the #auroraborealis #northernlights in the South of England. This was the first episode in May. I missed the second one in Oct; I was in Africa. I believe we can expect to see a few more this winter. I can't wait!

Orion, the mighty hunter, over the Cairngorm mountain range. This was a chilly night, but so worth it. The night sky in the Scottish Highlands is the best I’ve ever seen. If you’ve never visited the Highlands I implore you to do so.

It may be bitter and blowy out there, but Orion is dazzling at the moment. My first and favourite shape that I ever learned in the night sky.

Not too much longer into the night and he will be accompanied by the eternally faithful Dog Star, Sirius, the brightest star in the sky ⭐️🐕

Imaging a dark nebula is like trying to take a picture of a black cat, at night, with his eyes closed, 2 miles away. Hard to spot and even harder to image.
