Got to open a book and read for fun yesterday for the first time in almost two months!

I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t had time for it, and it’s something I’ve really missed being part of my routine.

Yeah, Reed Sheppard is not an NBA player. Not saying he can’t grow into it, but we saw why he didn’t play at all last year. He should not be the first man off the bench for that Rockets team.

They need PG help, badly.

The season *before* Caitlin Clark joined the league, the WNBA’s ESPN national broadcasts averaged about 94% the viewership as ESPN’s NHL broadcasts.

The NHL was paid $4M per game.

The WNBA was paid $1.1M per game.

The NBA negotiates the WNBA’s media deal.

Too many Dexter TV shows just dropped for a series that:

a. Had a very poor ending
b. Hasn’t been on or heard of in 14 years

Has anyone watched either? What are some takes?

Bball!!! So happy for him
FROM SHAMS:

Free agent C/F Paul Reed – aka BBall Paul – has agreed to a two-year, $11 million deal to return to the Detroit Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Reed played a versatile role for Pistons frontcourt, and the team and his agent Ron Shade of Octagon reached the new contract tonight.

I love both of these moves for the Nuggets
FROM SHAMS:

Almost 1.5 hours into free agency, the Nuggets land Cam Johnson via trade for Michael Porter Jr. and bring back a fan favorite and do-it-all forward in Bruce Brown Jr.
FROM SHAMS:

Free agent Bruce Brown Jr. has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN. The 2023 NBA champion for the Nuggets returns to Denver. CAA's Ty Sullivan and Steven Heumann finalized the deal tonight with the Nuggets.

An example of a player with all the talent in the world, but doesn’t apply himself or take the work seriously enough.

When he signs, the fans will be hyped until they actually watch him play.
FROM SHAMS:

Breaking: Deandre Ayton is finalizing a contract buyout with the Portland Trail Blazers to become a free agent, sources tell ESPN.

Sixers are paying their top two guys $106M and still need a washed Eric Gordon and Kyle Lowry in 2025 to provide ‘veteran leadership’.

A brutal indictment on Embiid and PG’s leadership capabilities.

Love this for the Sixers contractually but also happy for Justin on locking down more guaranteed money
FROM SHAMS:

Edwards will receive two guaranteed years on the new deal, sources said. He earns $2 million next season after the 76ers declined his $1.9M option. Edwards emerged as an upside rotation player last season, shooting 45.5% from the field and 36.3 from 3.
FROM SHAMS:

The Philadelphia 76ers intend to sign F Justin Edwards to a new three-year contract after declining his team option, sources tell ESPN. 76ers and Klutch Sports' Rich Paul and Josh Hairston negotiated the new deal for Edwards, who averaged 10.1 points and 26 minutes last season.

I don’t know much about Johni Broome’s game, but the guy seems like a great leader who works hard and produces. At the very least will add some much needed passing to the regular season rotation!

No reason to believe he can’t become a solid rotation big in a few years. I’ll give him a chance.

My girlfriends reaction to me telling her the sixers drafted VJ:

“VJ?! Like vagina? He’s gonna get made fun of”
June 26, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Jacket was fire last night too
red, white and blue looks good on you, VJ! ❤️💙
June 26, 2025 at 9:47 PM
I would love the sixers to walk away in tonight’s 2nd round with one of Rasheer Fleming, Aduo Thiero, or Ryan Kalkbrenner
June 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
VJ has a Maxey-like work ethic. Easy to root for and fun to imagine how much better he’ll get. I think the first step is a more consistent jump shot and then the improvement of his handle.

Is there a culture shift happening in Philly?
June 26, 2025 at 9:42 PM
If the Sixers stay at 3, VJ is the pick.

If they can trade down for a veteran and take Kon, Tre, or Murray-Boyles I think that’s the better option.

Either way I’ll be all in on the new player by Sunday.
June 25, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Perhaps it could be the moment talking, but If I need to pick 5 players to win one NBA finals game, I think Alex Caruso is on my team.
