This book wants so badly to be more interesting than it actually is. A hurt, once brainwashed Wolverine is not new ground and the shock value of killing off beloved classic X-Men in brutal fashion is not as thought provoking as they think. It’s not bad, it’s just disappointing

An action packed issue, this feels like we’re finally getting to what Bryan Hill was excited to write about when he took this book. Seeing Inan is always fun and I wish we got more of her throughout this story. This is what I wish the whole book felt like.

Hellboy written by Mike Mignola just hits in a way that cannot be explained. The tone he takes with the supernatural is unlike anything and this just feels like home if you’re a Hellboy fan.

Conan continues to be a shining star of old school sword & sorcery. This is the beginning of a new arc and a more political type of Conan story, albeit one that is still steeped in bloodshed & war. There’s an air of mysticism here that is kept close to its chest and I can’t wait for more.

God damn this is good TV. I should have picked it up sooner but I’m glad I got 5 issues of it. A small note, but not enough to really remove joy, I wish there was a more consistent art tone. Nevertheless indie comics continue to impress. 5/5

I’m cautiously optimistic. The first issue was okay, this is also okay. The Kingpin’s attitude is interesting. I guess I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop since Frank isn’t really Frank just yet. 3.5/5

I see Godzilla. I like Godzilla. But I’m a little sad we didn’t get a spread of hulk vs Godzilla. Seems like a missed opportunity. Also a lot less death for a destroys a universe than I was expecting but it was fun to see another Kaiju pop up. 3.5/5

After a lot of meaty issues, this is the first one that felt even slightly lean. The fight scenes are still great, it just felt rushed and the calm parts felt more like just teases for the next issue rather than parts of this one. Less Battle, more Beast. 4/5

For a run that started out slow and kind of nonsensical, I’m really impressed with how things have been revealed to the audience. This is another strong issue that reveals some things but teases and introduces so much more. Keep ‘em coming! 4/5
