Ok I've gone ahead and messaged / posted in a bunch of groups for southern Ontario specific resources and I'll get back to you with the specifics :) I did a brief search on FB marketplace though and found a lot of listings 👀 I swear, that's the only reason to have facebook!

I do have resources for Canada and mexico as well if you're at least in north america! Otherwise I do totally suggest looking at local facebook groups for your area. Crafting/ upcycling/ clothing making groups

But Second hand textiles arent always just on the bolt. Worst case apocolyse level you can still recycle damaged clothing and blankets people are throwing away. I know how daunting it feels when you're inexperienced but once you know what to look for these resources are everywhere

Making shirts and basic sweatshirt style tops is extremely affordable and doable with a home machine though. Pants, a little harder, but we're getting there

I was really confused bc fabric is like $5 a yard or less second hand but if you're trying to weave your own textiles yeah, it is not worth it. I've started making my own base layers though. Why doesnt anyone make a regular degular striped long sleeve T anymore???

Yes! Not only is it darker / lighter but you'll notice some of these are also warmer / colder or have other slight color variation as well

This is not a dig at them but most the employees here dont speak English as a first language or even at all, so I got kind of confusing answers 😭 but one thing was clear: the stuffed animal section has been completely dismantled :( and wasnt moved to another area of the store
