No, it's okay. I think I'm just wishing that there was a standardized chili pepper rating system to make it easier for everyone to find what they want, but that's beyond the Bsky scope. :D

Okay, looked it up. It's based on a 16th century crucifix in a small french church. If you look at Jansenist woodcarvings, they look just like this. So G was just really good at rendering really simple references. :D

Wasn't it a painting of a statue, though? Maybe the statue was this rustic, since the women have Gauguin's usual style.

Only if you think sex is bad somehow. The genre has embraced smut as a term. (I'd personally like to see non-smut romance tagged so I could find it easier.)
