Maybe they don‘t know how to start a presentation from PDF?

It‘s no excuse for this unprofessional no-go answer. But maybe it‘s an explanation…

And I‘m totally with Dave: If you don‘t tell them, they can‘t improve

I used to say the same and insisted on not buying one…

Until, after literally hours and days of research, we discovered the XPlorer ones from Rowenta (french company). GDPR-compliant servers in Germany, no mic or camera and excellent cleaning results. Love it!

So don't worry about making mistakes at your events. Embrace the uncertainty and plan with an ace up your sleeve here and there.

However, the issue of costs for locations skyrocketing (and staying high) after the pandemic is still a, if not the, major concern. Even in smaller or mid-sized cities.

I organise conferences for a living, and I agree 100% with you!

Don't let your participants experience this. At the very least, provide water bottles or similar for free throughout the day.

It also saves you or your caterer the work of clearing everything away and setting up again during each break. And the costs are only marginally higher. If at all...

Where in a completely unfamiliar building is the best place to get a drink of water now? Unless there's a vending machine buzzing away somewhere, it's the sink in the nearest toilet...

Imagine you are sitting in a session with 100 other people. It is the 5th, 6th, 7th presentation. The air conditioning is running and your throat is gradually drying out. You sneak out of the room to get a glass of water. And then: The catering area is empty😱
