Oh, I get it. Competitiveness will always exist, but I think if the system didn't force us into desperation mode, these feelings wouldn't occur nearly as often for a lot of people.

They were a prick and wrong, no argument, but when you brag about making more in a few seconds than someone would in an afternoon of work, you're not just talking down to the person being a dick, you're talking down, despite your intention, to everyone who works hard at a low-paying job they hate.
