I suppose they rehashed this plot for the rise of Skywalker with Rey and Palpatine

In fairness everyone from ANH aged very badly in them 19 years. Obi Wan, Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru etc.

How else could they tie the story of Anakian and Luke together?

Saw Gerrera was introduced in the Clone Wars and features in Rebels too. He was a well established character long before Rogue One.

Start with Andor. It has the biggest connection to the original film. Its also by far the best of all the series.

That's fair enough. Everybody wants different things and that's fine.

I know people who aren't star wars fans at all that still really enjoyed the quality of the story telling and themes Andor deals with. I think of all the star wars series Andor by far is the one that can be enjoyed with no prior star wars knowledge. Ofcourse being a fan helps but not essential.

Each to their own, but I can't understand how fans of star wars aren't interested in this part of the story considering its relevance and connection to the original film.

Obviously Andor could have killed Luthen in the last scene but he is fully on board to fight the Empire at this point and I think he realises Luthens importance to the rebellion. Andor has alot to hate the empire about. Prison, Maarva, Bix, etc. He realises he "would rather give it all at once"

I think that was just for dramatic effect. Considering we already know that Luthen doesn't kill him the writers did well to make the scene work to illustrate Andors predicament.
The way everything ties together at the end is brilliant.
Can't wait for S2.

I love this scene and ending. Andor realises during Maarvas funeral that he really only has one option. He gets his friends out of harms way and goes to roll the dice. Luthen isn't letting him go. Luthen either kills him or recruits him. Both better than being caught by empire.

Sounds like this speech.

Andor is better than Breaking Bad.

It's the opposite for me. I think Andor has made all other Star Wars better. It has added so much depth and texture to how the empire functioned how the rebellion gathered pace. It's definitely the best Star Wars content ever produced. 👌
