Retired Democrat in the Pacific Northwest. Used to be an Independent until the Republicans decided that lying and misinformation was their path to minority rule.
In fairness, next year's Medicaid cuts combined with this year's ACA subsidy cuts will probably bring that back down to 4%. He's just thinking ahead.

It's impossible to "prove" that something that didn't happen, didn't happen. Trump employed an army of private lawyers as well as his DOJ trying to find evidence that it did happen. They found nothing that held up in court. That's proof enough for rational people.

The saddest thing is this country elected him twice, especially the second time.

Risking? Imposing.

Want a good tea time? Send your "donation" to Trump.
December 13, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Trump is working on that. With all the intrusive data people will have to provide to enter the US, nobody is going to want to come here anyway.

Mark Cuban, just look at Medicare.

Original Medicare: No insurance gatekeepers. Self-refer to specialists.

Medicare Advantage (privatized Medicare): Insurance gatekeepers. Must see PCP for specialist referrals.

Original Medicare costs the government less than privatized Medicare.

I'm kind of surprised that the FIFA Peace Prize winner didn't demand her Nobel medal in return for safe passage.

Next on the shadow docket: Supreme Court bans CA from using its new map.
December 5, 2025 at 1:15 AM
Next, they'll rule that CA can't use its new map.

Come to think of it, you are right. My first reaction was that she would be upset that a family member would get caught up in the dragnet, thus the womp, womp. But its clear that she doesn't care.

Lol. And I still haven't received my DOGE or Tariff rebate checks.

Womp womp.

My prediction: The Extreme Court will allow Texas' legislature-imposed gerrymander to stand while striking down California's citizen-approved gerrymander.

While it was trying to argue its initial position was correct, it cited an anonymous Reddit post as evidence. When I asked it why it was using a Reddit post as a source, it apologized in a similar (and obsequious) way that Grok did to you.

I was doing research on Chat GPT about a legal question. It initially agreed with me that my take on the answer was correct. However, the sources it cited in support of its conclusions were either irrelevant or contradicted the conclusion. It eventually did a 180 when I pointed this out.

It's simple. Zelenskyy didn't come with billions of bribe money.
November 19, 2025 at 5:10 PM
You've made a convincing case that our system is beyond broken. But not to worry. Trump has a concept of a plan to fix it. He's even gotten as far as figuring out the name: Trumpcare.

I call b.s. on the "furious backlash" claim. What would conservatives and business leaders have against struggling Americans paying 86% more interest over the life of their mortgage. Completely on brand for the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" crowd.

That's an easy one. They're toast. Gone. Finished. Kaput. Crapped out. Capitulating to bullies only encourages them.

Once again, you are confused. You are citing the individual person's contribution to employer-provided health care premium, not the full cost of the premium including the employer's contribution. Your own article says that health care spending in the US is 2X other wealthy countries,
November 7, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Cuban was talking about private health insurance, not Medicaid. Please try to compare apples to apples.
November 7, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Premiums for any decent plan in the US cost a hell of a lot more than $600. US spends double the amount per capital on health care than Canada while outcomes are worse.
November 7, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Republicans are united in their desire to starve 40 million Americans until Democrats agree to make health care unaffordable for 24 million Americans
