#signal is really gaining momentum in The Netherlands right now. Most of my whatsapp groups have switched over to signal this weekend.

Europe’s American century is over.

Trump's call with Putin, attempting to negotiate Ukraine without involving Europe or Ukraine, is painful. It's a sign that our relationship will never be the same.

Europeans must understand the gravity of this shift. We're on our own.

Should we be worried about junior dev’s in the age of AI? AI may disrupt junior devs' path to seniority, but dev work is evolving beyond just coding anyway. I believe future needs different skills, not necessarily fewer devs.

My daughter is 2.5 now. In 4 years, she’ll be 6.5. In 10 years she’ll be learning about the Trump/MAGA era in history class. The fact that it’ll be **history** by then gives me a little hope.

Just a little.

Just tried this out at huggingface.co/spaces/Qwen/.... And have to say it’s impressive how verbose and how correct it was on my first try.

o3 looks impressive. Smart move to drop the news right before Christmas. And annoying. Guess Christmas dinner will be all about discussing benchmarks and speculating on its real-world impact.

Like almost everyone, I’m currently working my ass off to get some projects finished before the Christmas holidays.

Came across this post that explains why it’s the right thing to do: theengineeringmanager.substack.com/p/parkinsons...

Yes, just set that deadline.

I get that the gradient in the #bluesky icon represents the sky, but imho it would be better without a gradient. It feels a bit old fashioned.

If I were billionaire I’d buy Bluesky and change the logo. That’s how it works these days, right?

Aside from that only love for BS ❤️

We’re so close to reaching AGI.

Me: “What’s the first name of Gertjan Jansen”
ChatGPT 4o: “I'm sorry, but I don't have any specific information about a person named Gertjan Jansen. Without additional context, I can't give an accurate answer.”

The smallest customers often bring the biggest insights. One of my customers pays 10x less than the larger ones but submits 10x more feature requests, ideas, and bug reports.

He’s annoying AND awesome because he makes the product so much better.💡

My problem with the majority of #ai tools:

- i see an ad on youtube about this AWESOME new AI tool
- i get excited, this will solve my problems, get me a ton of customers and make me filthy rich
- i sign up for free
- i try my first prompt
- i get a shitty result
- i leave, never to return again

I am using Tairo (tairo.cssninja.io) for my #nuxt project. It has served me well, but I’m also running into issues all the time. Currently suffering from terribly slow hot reload, like 5-10 seconds after each change. Is it #nuxt, #tairo, some package I use or me? Hard to figure out

When I commit code changes, I usually switch from VSCode to the GitHub Mac app. Reviewing the code in a different font and colors gives me a fresh perspective and makes it easier to spot issues. I like the simplicity of GitHub's mac app. Less distractions. #vscode #git #github #development

I look up and realize, yep, I’m building another variation of a CMS again. It’s never the plan, yet every project sneaks one in. Sure, it’s got tailored AI features for my specific audience, but at the end of the day I'm still building content management features. #historyrepeats #cms #softwaredev

🐸 Eating the frog this morning: ISO 27001 security audit prep is in full swing. Writing security policies, double-checking configs, and explaining KPIs. Not the most exciting work, but it might be the key to landing bigger (gov) B2B contracts. #eatthefrog #iso27001 #security #auditlife #b2b
