Candle holder with honey flux and terracotta crumbs

Terracotta crumbles fired at cone 6 under honey flux. I see a lot of this trick in my future. Crédit for this technique goes to my wife.

A small vase just fresh out of the kiln. I just threw it though, my wife did the carving

Reusing scrap clay can be so rewarding
I love how different clays are making these pretty swirls and now I have a kurinuki candle holder I want to keep 😁

Kurinuki style plant pots
My wife made these and I think they are gorgeous.
On top of the oolong mid fire glaze looks absolutely awesome when fired at cone 06 over terracotta. At least I think so 😉

Espresso cup
I really love how this one turned up. I am totally keeping it!
Not the best bottom but the rest is great.

I can't make something that great in a 100 years. These are just perfectly made and really beautiful. Not sure the photos do them justice.

How not to glaze
2 heavy layers of PC glaze covering half of these cups and the handle. Then what I did not realize is undiluted clear glaze. 2 very heavy layers and not only covering the PC free part of the cups- as you can see.
No amount of kiln wash could have prevented what followed.

I do not like making mugs. Everyone else is making them so why should I. Then I though maybe I hate it because I suck. So I started making mugs.
As you can see first is anything but a mug. Second is, well... mugish bowl. Third was satisfying though. Who knew mugs can be fun 😉

Experimenting with combinations of mate glazes, oolong and chai plus acai. I am not sure the combinations are worth it, these glazes really look good by themselves on kurinuki cups.

Olive bowl I threw a while back. Glazing was above my expectations- it was exactly the Greek style I was going for.

Sugar bowl I did a while ago on the wheel. Did not turn exactly as we hoped- glaze experiment that is not the most attractive perhaps but I still like it.
