Homelessness in Northern Ireland is worsening quickly.

A recent report found a 176% increase in demand for temporary accomodation over the past six years, and an 81% rise in the social housing waiting list.

The report below, outlining the unavailability of private rentals at housing benefit rates, is as timely as it is unsurprising.

It is clear that the benefit target threshold - 30% of available rents - has not reflected the actual market for years.
