Does anyone enjoy *eating* macarons? & Can you explain why, beyond "cute"? I admit I'm more nonprofit-office-leftovers-garbage-disposal than foodie but these are down there with supermarket brownie bites. At the local patisserie they're $5 honey lavender supermarket brownie bites. #hottake ?

Late for #kidlitchat & up much too late - but in service to a DIY victory! 1st time filling my own #watercolor pans! Then went a little nuts mixing, to use up 3 pans I'd duplicated. Bc of course 2 were pthalos (tinting strength of tanks)... #illustratorproblems #didittomyself #hyperfocus

Bet you're impressed by my inner city Northern Lights. It really was dreamy - green strobes and pink puddles evanescent through the thinning crowns of trees. Even a fairly humble #auroraborealis turns me to #poetry at the beauty of our Earth.

I mostly remembered building a fairy ferris wheel from old bike tires and straws as a book report.Then *poof* #reddit takes me to 1999 Sarah-Kate in her hiking boots and slip

I'm a creative tornado, who used to lose ideas on loose scraps til I found the perfect pocket-sized notebooks and retrained myself to keep ideas on separate pages and start new ones for each conference or season. Gamechanger. #kidlitchat

It sure stormed up a storm across West Michigan overnight, and I have heard four separate sirens as I've typed this, but welcome to the stillness of an 1848 sanctuary largely uninterrupted by light. Serenity- one of the perks of being a church lady as your day job.

I also believe in the snail mail card so they have some good mail among the junk, that they can peruse at their leisure. I'm a poet so I include a printed poem or two. Usually this one.

Good for you! I bet they loved it! I hope those copies go flying off the shelf like our favorite page of the book. The one where, at bedtime last night, my daughter asked me if the boxes really have wings. ❤️ 🪽(Hope it's ok to post the pic.) Beautiful work.

Excited to join this #kidlit community! Looking forward to meeting fabulous picture books & all the folks involved on the way. As I think about stories and art I love, I've made a sort of mantra: "Let's explore the heart of our common stories, in words and pictures." Monster art credit to my kiddos.
