I did the vote blue no matter who thing. I’ve moved left. There is no longer any uncritical support in the tank for me after what the establishment did to Zohran. There’s bars that need to be cleared when centrists start throwing people on the pyre. Collaborators will get us killed, sniff them out.

Also people like ishowspeed going to China and streaming his trip, using high speed rail, seeing modern cities even larger than NYC, the seamless integration of technology in daily life. Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha all increasingly see the US as a fraudulent and withering empire.

Younger generations are extremely aware of things like social housing with rent control in Vienna, subsidized childcare in Quebec, universal healthcare literally everywhere else, free college in many OECD nations. People are figuring out we don’t because we have two right wing parties.

It’s the opposite. New nationwide YouGov poll released today shows people want Mamdani’s major policies everywhere. People vote to improve their lives when you put it on the table with a candidate that can stick to a message. Not only are these policies possible, but they exist in other countries.

Look at like MSNBC and you find former Bush admin personnel. No matter how these people market a news agency, the same agenda of diverting people’s attention away from the core problems of capitalism eventually starts breaking through, because that’s the system they still want to maintain, foremost.

Almost all rich people have class consciousness and are easily organized and mobilized around it. There are very few of them who will actually be class traitors when push comes to shove. I’m not sure what the practical answer is though unfortunately.

Marisa, with respect, you and a handful of independent journalists are the only ones in a unique position to harness that energy. We can’t rely on wealthy liberals anymore, as we have seen, many will stab the left in the back when their wealth is threatened. Media needs to be independent of them.

Until recently, many Americans looked at the uber rich and saw them as models of success. The reality is they have a deeply antisocial psychosis where they rationalize infinite greed, human exploitation/suffering, and have a paranoia of losing even the slightest bit of wealth (power).
